Tony has over twenty years of experience working with global organizations in 28 countries throughout North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. He is an expert facilitator and consultant in the areas of leadership, performance management, team effectiveness, negotiation, client service, conflict resolution, cross-cultural communication and ethics. Over his career he has designed and conducted workshops and consulting interventions for more than 50,000 United Nations staff, business leaders, managers, research scientists, lawyers, client services representatives, diplomats, military officers, clerical staff, technicians, doctors, allied healthcare workers, police officers, teachers and middle school students. He has also co-designed and led several courses at the Center for Educational Outreach and Innovation (CEO&I) and the International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution (ICCCR) at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Some of Tony’s most recent clients include UNICEF, WFP, UNFPA, the United Nations Secretariat, New York City DCAS Leadership, Columbia University (Business School, Teachers College, Executive Coaching Program, Center for International Conflict Resolution, Cahn Fellows Program), the City of New York (DCAS), the Federal Reserve Bank, J.P. Training and Curriculum Design
Tony has designed and developed learning programs in the areas of performance management, conflict management, negotiation, team effectiveness skills, and leadership development. For UNICEF, he developed a program called “Effective Performance Management Discussions” which was run in New York, Geneva, Kathmandu and Colombo. He also developed a program called “Empowering Conversation” which was facilitated in New York, Budapest, New Delhi, Islamabad, Amman, and Beirut and in an online / virtual format.
He has also developed leadership programs for the City of New York, Cahn Fellows Program at Teaches College, BDO, and PGIM. In addition, he has co-designed and led several graduate academic courses in the areas of collaborative dialogue and negotiation skills at the Center for Educational Outreach and Innovation (CEO&I) and the International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution (ICCCR) at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Organization Development
For 20 years Tony has led and been a consultant on a range of human resource, team effectiveness, and organizational change initiatives. His approach emphasizes the use of multiple sources of data (i.e. interviews, focus groups and surveys) as well as large group methodologies (i.e. appreciative inquiry, open space, future search) to build commitment and buy-in for organizational change initiatives. He has facilitated numerous work planning and team building retreats for AstraZeneca, Shire Pharmaceuticals, UNICEF, UNFPA, UN Women, WFP, and the United Nations (UNTSO, DPKO RAO, UNDOCO, UNDG). In addition, he has co-led consulting projects to enhance patient care and staff satisfaction at Bellevue Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital and Brookdale Hospital. Tony also co-designed a standardized training competency tool and trainer evaluation processes for Pfizer, Inc.
Coaching
Tony is an experienced coach. At Pfizer, he coached trainers to help them develop core training competencies. He has also done extensive coaching for the Economic and Social Commissions globally for the UN on themes related to performance management, leadership, conflict management and team skills. He has coached UNICEF managers on a broad range of performance management issues. Tony also co-designed and now co-leads certification training programs for coaches and consultants on neuroscience based assessment tools (NBI) in collaboration with the Executive Coaching Program at Columbia University.
